We are a slow-leveling, casual kinship. We organize our characters in tiers that we call Companies in a lore-friendly way.
Our current companies include the L20 Barrows Company for characters up to L20, the L32 Garth Agarwen Company that houses all characters between L21 and L32, and the L50 Angmar Company for characters between L32 and L50.
You are free to choose which Company you wish to belong to by staying within their level range. You are also free to transition to the next Company at any time of your choosing by leveling up.
We usually have multiple Events per week for our Companies. They can be anything from vacuous fun to on-level instance runs and even raids. Take a look at our Events Calendar to see what we've been up to. Participation in all of our Events is optional!
Carefree's purpose is to allow everyone to complete their goals in the game at their own pace and/or together with the kin. We run both scheduled and impromptu instances, raids, and content designed for groups on level as a kin. Our official runs tend to start around 19:30 GMT.
New Companies will open up in the future for the following adventures: 60 - Mória, 65 - Mirkwood, 75 - Isengard, 85 - Riders of Rohan, 95 - Helm's Deep, 100 - Osgiliath/Pelennor, 115 Mordor.
The kin will cater to the needs of new players, with no one getting left behind as long as you are a reasonably active player.

Kin Rules, Ethos, and Etiquette (by Anthemic, Leader and Chief Recruitment Officer)
We have very few!!
1. You must be in the correct level range for grouping for official Kin instances so it's not too easy. -3 and +2 levels are allowed. So for an L20GB run L17 to L22 is fine. To stay within the current level ranges (L20, L32 and so on) you'll need a Stone of the Tortoise (XP Disabler) pocket item from the store for 100 points.
2. Usage of Kin Notes is mandatory, put in 'main' on your main alt, and 'alt of xyz' on your alts. This helps Kin officers in several areas.
As you get higher you may get Legendary Items (LI's) and Essence gear with essence slots. These are *not* allowed in any Kin instances at L50 or lower. You may however collect them, raise them, use them for landscape, solo play, whatever. When the cap rises to L60 then you can use them in L51+ instances but not lower.
All other gear is allowed.
4. The Kin has a way of running instances to keep everyone safe and have an enjoyable time. Details can be found elsewhere on the forum. Anyone joining official Kin Instances is expected to follow these (very simple) rules. If anyone is unsure of Kin Instance rules, please ask an officer.
Carefree's purpose is to allow everyone to complete whatever they want in the game at their own pace and/or together with the kin. We run both scheduled and impromptu instances, raids, and content designed for groups on level as a kin. Our official runs tend to start around 19:30 GMT.
The kin will always try to cater to the needs of new players, with no one getting left behind as long as you are a reasonably active player.
Apart from the rules above, you can do whatever you want. This is not a competition or a job. We won't be telling you how to play. In our official events and most impromptu events we do not allow higher levels. How you progress your own characters in your own time, however, is up to you.
It's the Kin's custom not to greet members that log, for their privacy. It's nothing personal and you're not being ignored. You may have had a bad day, just wish to play solo and so forth. Just say Hi in Kin when you wish to and we'll chat with you.
Likewise, never recruit for an instance by asking someone by name in the Kin list "Would you like to join instance xyz" as that places undue pressure on them. Simply use an indirect request like "Instance xyz 5/6 anyone else want to join".
